The Details - Invitations

underline

flowersThe invitations you send your guests set the tone for your wedding. Are you going for a formal style, or totally funky and unique? Black with Ivory, or Fuschia and Orange? A set of love birds, or two dancing robots?

Typically invitations are sent out about 8 weeks prior to the wedding date, giving your guests enough time to Respondez Vous S'il Vous Plait (RSVP). This means you should be thinking about designing them at least 12 weeks before the wedding, to allow enough time for revisions and printing. Ideally you would have your invitations designed and printed, ready at the 12 week mark, just incase anything goes awry.

Custom designs are a great way to make your wedding unique from the very beginning.

Planning Tip

  • Keep a record of exactly who you have sent your invitations to and who are yet to receive them, especially if you are posting them in batches, otherwise it can get very confusing! Another great tip is to include an email address for guests to RSVP to, it saves a lot of time and effort!
